Case Study Summary

RVKM is a mobile app designed to simplify bachelor party planning.

It helps users organize every part of the event: from assigning tasks and managing the group budget, to coordinating timelines and tracking progress in real time. With a focus on clarity, control, and communication, RVKM empowers friends to collaborate more effectively — so they can spend less time chasing each other for updates and more time enjoying the celebration.

The problem

Group planning lacks structure — especially when no one's in charge.

In most bachelor party scenarios, communication happens across multiple apps, roles are undefined, and payment tracking is manual at best. The result? Stress, confusion, and disconnection.

The goal of RVKM was to solve this by designing an app that brings order to the chaos — making party planning feel effortless, organized, and even fun.

Research & Insights

Understanding the Chaos Before Designing the Calm

The idea for RVKM came from my own experience planning a bachelor party for a close friend — and realizing just how chaotic group coordination can get. That challenge sparked a deeper question: why is planning something fun so often so stressful?

To go beyond my own perspective, I spoke with potential users, reviewed group planning patterns, and mapped out common pitfalls that consistently caused frustration and confusion.

Here’s what stood out:

  • Scattered Communication

Planning happens across endless WhatsApp threads, Excel sheets, and verbal updates — making it hard to keep track of what’s been done.

  • Unclear Responsibilities

No one knows who’s in charge of what, leading to repeated tasks… or worse, forgotten ones.

  • Budget Stress
Tracking who paid for what is usually left to one person — and it gets messy fast.

  • Last-Minute Panic
Without shared visibility, surprises pop up just days before the event.

These insights became the foundation for our persona, user flows, and eventual product features — all aimed at reducing friction and creating clarity for everyone involved.

Persona

Idan

28 Years old

Busy professional

Idan is 28, lives in Tel Aviv and recently found himself in charge of planning his best friend’s bachelor party. He’s organized in daily life — but coordinating a whole group of friends? That’s a whole different challenge.

Goals:

  • Plan a fun, memorable event

  • Keep everyone in the loop

  • Make sure tasks and payments are handled fairly

Pain points:

  • Feels like the only one doing everything

  • Hard to track who did what (and who paid)

  • Juggling endless WhatsApp messages and last-minute chaos

“I just want everyone to enjoy — not chase people for answers.”

UX Process

From Insight to Interaction: Designing the Flow

Once the core problems were clear, I mapped out the ideal experience — one that gave the organizer full control, while keeping the group informed and engaged.

The process included:

  • User Flow mapping

I outlined every step a user would take — from creating the event to assigning tasks and collecting payments — to make sure nothing felt overwhelming or forgotten.

  • Wireframing

I started with low-fidelity wireframes to test layout ideas and navigation logic. These early sketches helped simplify the planning experience and prioritize core actions.

  • Information Architecture
I grouped features into three clear spaces: Planning, Tasks, and Payments — making it easy for users to know where to go and what to do next.

Throughout this phase, my focus was on minimizing friction, reducing cognitive load, and creating a natural flow that matched how people actually think during group planning.

The Solution

Structure, Simplicity & Shared Ownership

RVKM is a mobile app that transforms bachelor party planning into a clear, collaborative experience — where everyone knows what to do, what they owe, and what’s happening next.

The app is designed around three core pillars:

Smart Task Assignment

Organizers can easily create, assign, and track responsibilities — no more “who’s bringing what?” confusion.

Group Budget & Payments

Users can split expenses, track who paid, and see the full budget breakdown in one place — without awkward reminders or spreadsheet chaos.

Smart Task Assignment

Organizers can easily create, assign, and track responsibilities — no more “who’s bringing what?” confusion.

Each screen was designed to reduce friction, highlight what matters, and help users feel in control — even in a group setting that often feels out of control.

Outcome & Reflection

What i Learned, and Where It Took Me

Designing RVKM taught me how to turn a chaotic real-life problem into a structured, user-friendly solution — and how important it is to empathize with users at every step.

Through this project, I developed a deeper understanding of:

  • User-centered thinking, grounded in real behaviors, not assumptions

  • Designing flows that balance clarity, flexibility, and emotion

  • Handling complexity while keeping the interface clean and calm

  • Communicating decisions, not just designs — through storytelling, logic, and visual hierarchy

This experience shaped the way I approach all projects now: with curiosity, strategic intent, and a deep desire to simplify what feels overwhelming.

RVKM may have started with a personal frustration — but it grew into a design journey I’m truly proud of.
